It is a reflective activity which helps schools to concentrate on developing individual members of staff. CPD supports individual needs and improves professional practice; it is a reflective activity which enhances attributes, knowledge, understanding and skills.
Quality Mark (Bronze)
Achieving the Quality Mark Bronze Award is a celebration of the success of the governing body and its role within the school and in raising standards. It provides a benchmark against which governing bodies can assess their effectiveness.
RE Quality Mark (Gold)
The RE Quality Mark (REQM) has been developed to celebrate high quality religious education. It is an accreditation system designed to be a mechanism for whole school improvement beyond religious education since its principle focus is enhanced pedagogy.
London 2012 Get Set Network
The official London 2012 education programme. Ysgol John Bright were awarded a plaque and certificate to acknowledge their involvement in the London 2012 education programme. They now join schools and colleges across the UK as members of a special London 2012 community – the Get Set network - and will receive access to exclusive competitions and 2012 Games related opportunities over the coming years.
The ICT Mark is an accreditation scheme available across the UK which recognises schools achieving a good standard of mature and effective use of technology.

Investors in People has grown to be the UK’s leading people management business improvement standard because it delivers improved performance to the organisations such as Ysgol John Bright.
International Networking for Educational Transformation (iNet)
iNet (International Networking for Educational Transformation) works with schools and organisations to transform education through the sharing of best practice and innovation.
ICT Register Schools support national priorities and initiatives, and work with the software industry to help shape the future of education technology. They help develop exemplars of good practice and ICT resources to enable the transformation of learning through the use of ICT.
Welsh Network of Healthy School Schemes (WNHSS)
A health promoting school is one which actively promotes and protects the physical, mental and social health and well-being of its community through positive action by such means as policy, strategic planning and staff development.
The Quality Mark is about recognising minimum standards in teaching literacy and numeracy. Attainment of this award is normally based on a close partnership between the agency, local authority and schools.

The International School Award (ISA) is an accreditation scheme which recognises curriculum-based international work.
Blackburn Community Trust
This unique and sector leading educational partnership aims to enrich our curriculum provision for our students here at Ysgol John Bright and work in partnership with our Connecting Classrooms International Project.
ActiveMarc Cymru is awarded to schools that can demonstrate a commitment to developing high quality PE and School Sport. It focuses on the quality of provision and high standards achieved in the school. It is accredited for three years. Ysgol John Bright was awarded the ActiveMarc for the first time in March 2011.
The Careers Wales Mark: Continuous Quality Improvement accredits establishments that have demonstrated they have active procedures in place to ensure a continuous improvement in outcomes for learners.
Inclusion Quality Mark
Ysgol John Bright were awarded with the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) in July 2011. The official assessment report stated that "Students at Ysgol John Bright demonstrate excellent attitudes to their learning and behaviour is generally calm and conducive to a positive ethos."
Schools have a duty to provide a secure environment and safe access to online technology as part of the teaching and learning experience. The eSafety Label aims to assist in meeting this challenge to become a more secure, enriching environment for staff and pupils. Good online experiences go hand-in-hand with a solid School Policy and a well thought-out eSafety Action Plan.
