Synopsis
Backstage at Ford’s Theatre in Baltimore, the cast of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” prepare for opening night. Director Fred Graham’s nerves are tested to the limit as he deals with a neurotic band of actors, including his ex-wife Lilli in the lead role. He has also engaged two nightclub performers, Bill and Lois, for their theatrical debut.
But Bill’s gambling lands them all in hot water when two gangsters turn up to reclaim their money – and end up onstage mid-production!
The animosity between Fred and Lilli gradually thaws as they realize they still have feelings for each other. But with two such volatile characters, the path to true love is not destined to run smoothly.
