GCSE Results 2017 – A Fantastic Outcome!

Joy and excitement filled the air at Ysgol John Bright today as Year 11 students collected their long-awaited GCSE results.

Headteacher Ann Webb commented:

“These results are richly deserved. Our students have worked with great determination and focus in order to achieve these fantastic outcomes and we share their delight. There have been unprecedented changes in GCSE assessments this year alongside the introduction of the new numeracy GCSE.  The standard needed to achieve an A-C grade can not be compared to previous years.  At a time when schools are having to deal with a torrent of change and significant challenges, results like this testify to the dedication and expertise of our staff who work relentlessly to help our students to achieve their potential.”

Some of our most successful students include….

Sam Johnson 9A*, 1A, 2B

Ellis Thomas 8A*, 3A, 2B

Daisy Barlow 5A*, 4A, 1B

Bethany Gris 4A*, 6A, 2B

Sophie Jolley 4A*, 6A, 2C

Ciaran Bate 2A*, 7A, 4B

Hywel Parry, Deputy Headteacher stated, ‘these results provide a strong platform for our students to progress; whilst the vast majority of these young people will be joining our Sixth Form and are continuing their education with us, I wish all of John Bright students the very best for the future.’
