GCSE Results 2016

Students at Ysgol John Bright are certainly celebrating this week after publication of their record GCSE results, with 91% of students gaining 5 or more A* – C grades.

Head teacher Mr Matt Vickery said I am delighted with the performance of all the Year 11 students. The results confirm the continuing success of the school, where academic standards have reached an all time high. There has been another record breaking success with 91% of students gaining 5A* to C grades, an increase of 6% on last year. We are so pleased that our students have performed so well.

These results are testimony to the incredible hard work and dedication of the staff and students at the school. Everyone has worked tirelessly to achieve such outstanding success and is to be congratulated. I am very proud of what has been achieved and know that the students thoroughly deserve these excellent results.

Whilst we are proud of the whole year group, it is worth noting that there were, as ever, some exceptional individual performances by students in year 11;

Olivia Jones | 9A* 1A

Hannah Hughes | 8A* 3A

Cara Otto | 7A* 3A

Matthew Clark | 4A* 6A 1B

Barnaby Bisset | 5A* 4A 2C

Megan Lyde | 5A* 5A

Ysgol John Bright is looking forward to welcoming a record number students back to the sixth from in September.
