Go4Set Airbus Project: YJB Fly Away Success…
On Wednesday 11th March eleven Year 9 students from Ysgol John Bright, Llandudno travelled to Airbus in Broughton to compete in the final stage of a 10 week engineering competition. As part of the competition the students had to develop a sustainable form of transport for their school. The students had to research different fuel types, analyse the carbon footprint of their school and make recommendations on a new type of transport for the school. This process included making a model, an extensive report and presenting their ideas to a panel from Airbus.
Twelve teams from across Flintshire and Conwy took part in the challenge, with four prizes being awarded to the overall winners. Ysgol John Bright students won the award for the Best Team for their development of their model and outstanding presentation skills. The students also came second overall for the main project prize. All students have now achieved their Industrial Cadets Bronze award and gained a true insight into the world of engineering and the potential career prospects for the future.
