Ysgol John Bright’s Modern Foreign Language Department took the Year 10 French students to a language event, ‘Wales, Europe and the World’ at Bangor University on Monday 1st of July organised by Routes into Languages Cymru.
The aim of Wales, Europe & the World was to help our students to find out more about working, studying, and travelling in Europe and beyond. They also learnt how speaking another language can enable them to get the most out of the experience. Open their eyes to a world of opportunity…
The one-day fair and exhibition also offered a range of information sessions and workshops aimed at 14-16 year-olds, featuring music, dance, careers, language tasters and useful information about studying and working in Wales or abroad. This year’s even had a particular focus on languages and the world of work.
All the pupils who attended broadened their horizons, and left with a greater awareness of what it means to be a European and global citizen, all of which are part of the curriculum at both GCSE and AS/A Level. A great time was had by all!
