YJB Designing for the Olympics

Engineering students designing for the 2012 Olympics

During the past two weeks, the Year 10 Engineering students have taken part in designing and making a collage for the London 2012 Olympics.

The challenge:

‘To create and display our own Olympic rings and Agitos (the symbol for the Paralympics) made from a range of collage materials.’

The students organised themselves into teams and started to brainstorm possible ideas. There were a whole host of interesting and innovative ideas discussed before the final designs were chosen.

Five lesson later, having worked their socks off to get the work completed; the students had finished the task and were very proud of what they had achieved in such a short amount of time.

The designs have now been sent down to the Olympic Headquarters in London for judging. All entries will be assessed over the Christmas period and the winners will be announced in the new year.
