School Closure – 30th NovemberSchool Closure – 30th November

Please find below the correspondence sent home with students today (28th November), regarding industrial action taking place on Wednesday.

28 November 2011

Dear Parents/Guardians

We have been informed by UCAC, NAHT, NUT, NASUWT, UNISON and GMB that they will be taking industrial action in the form of a strike on Wednesday 30 November 2011.

This action is part of the national industrial action organised by trades unions about changes to the pension schemes of their members.

I can now confirm that the school will be closed for all students as a result of this industrial action. Our main concern is the health and safety of our students and we feel that we cannot operate the school safely, in light of the numbers of staff taking action.

We must all hope that the issues over which the industrial action has arisen are resolved as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully

Mr W G Davies
