During May, Mrs Gavin travelled to Kenya as part of the British Council’s connecting classrooms project, representing Ysgol John Bright, Ysgol Craig Y Don and Ysgol San Sior.
Mrs Gavin, working with colleagues from Ysgol Craig Y Don and Ysgol San Sior, was there to find partner schools with which to share and build upon good practices in teaching and learning.
The purpose of the project is to share our expertise as teachers with our African colleagues whilst raining awareness of global issues with Llandudno students.
The visit was very successful connecting the three Llandudno schools with primary and secondary schools in Malawi and South Africa.
Over the next three years this will grow to include a further eighteen schools, six North Wales schools and twelve African schools, all sharing expertise and knowledge. The next stage of the visit will be in October when our African colleagues visit us in October of this year.
